Procedure Maximisation - Overview
We have adapted and tested our procedure maximisation as part of our medical peeling programmes and they not only deliver ‘better results, less complications’ but also support many other procedures.
Defining and promoting a better collagen mix is critical in skin rejuvenation. Younger skins contain high levels of collagen type-III. As we age this converts into collagen type-I. Which is more rigid and leads to an older face shape. Promoting collagen type III is an objective of most anti-aging treatments. Collagen change is triggered by reduced hyaluronic acid skin levels. For cosmetic procedures to have a significant anti-aging impact in encouraging the production and retention of collagen type III, you need to increase the levels of hyaluronic acid. SkinMed protocols address these issues, while also managing potential treatment complications.
The diagram below is a the SkinMed Clinical Maximisation Schematic which is used to explain clinical preparation.
The x-axis represents Fitzpatrick Type and the y-axis represents the level of skin desquamation (dryness). Essentially, we believe that when going for any clinical treatment, every patient should be using Terproline® and Fillast® to boost collagen and hyaluronic acid levels in the skin. Lower Fitzpatrick Types are susceptible to reddening (which Synchrorose® suppresses) while higher Fitzpatrick Types are susceptible to hyperpigmentation (which Thiospot® can prevent).
For example, a patient of Fitzpatrick Type 4 and Oily Skin would be recommended to use Terproline® and Fillast® as well as Thiospot® and Aknicare®.

TERPROLINE®
Skin Healing, Recovery and Scar Prevention

The Fillast® range is revolutionising the management of wrinkles and fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is too large a molecule to penetrate into the skin, so hyaluronic acid serums only work superficially. Fillast® protects existing hyaluronic acid fibres both natural and implanted while also boosting hyaluronic acid production. This results in a net increase in levels over 30 days. Fillast® also sustains injectable filler effects for longer and but also maintains and promotes natural hyaluronic acid levels..

SYNCHROROSE®
Reduces Erythema and Reddening
Synchrorose® protects the skin from external triggers and raises the skin’s tolerance to internal triggers. It raises the skins tolerance threshold to chemical stimulation and improves skin functioning in managing the reddening response once triggered.
Synchrorose® helps maintain vascular (blood vessel) integrity, supporting structure and function, while helping reduce erythema and prevent thread veins. Synchrorose® - used twice daily - has been shown to reduce permanent or transitory redness, sometimes within two weeks but usually within four to six weeks.

THIOSPOT®
To Manage Age-Defining Hyperpigmentation
Thiospot® is a combination of three medically-proven ingredients which slow down excess melanin production. Newly produced skin cells take in less pigment as a result, so this newer, lighter skin can rise to the surface to replace older, darker skin with no bleaching.
Thiospot® has an anti-inflammatory agent to encourage the reduction of inflammatory triggering as well as an organic-based sun filter which is non-irritating (non-inflammatory) to cell membranes, unlike standard sun filters. Lastly, Thiospot® gently increases the rate of skin-shedding, speeding up the rate that new, lighter skin cells migrate to the surface replacing the old darker skin cells.

AKNICARE®
The Medical Device For The Treatment of Acne, Spots and Oily Skin
The two key medical devices to control acne effectively - Aknicare® Lotion and Aknicare® Cream change your skin from within and achieve the six effects listed above. Also Aknicare® provides two types of preparatory products - Aknicare® Cleanser - an antibacterial exfoliating wash for those who need to reduce surface debris and sebum (oil) and Aknicare® Remover - an active cleanser with non exfoliating non irritating cleansing agents for angry skin with often inflamed spots.
